7 April 2006 02:13He'd told Gabe he was only going out for a walk. That walk had turned into a run around the lake and through the woods, trees and mountainside blurring past him, not stopping until he was so exhausted he didn't think he move another step. Collapsing under a tree, he curled up and glanced at his watch. He'd been gone nearly three hours and had absolutely no idea where he was on the land.
He truly was trying to hold it together, and the only thing keeping him from completely falling apart was to mentally and physically wear himself out. If he was too exhausted to move then he was too exhausted to think. And if he couldn't think, he couldn't face what was going on and fall apart.
Rolling to his side, curling up into a ball with his back to the tree, Jason wraps his arms around himself, squeezing his eyes shut. He could feel the tears coming, hot behind his eyelids. Rocking slowly, biting his lip hard enough to taste blood, Jason tries to not to think about how unfair and fucked up things were.
Maybe he wasn't as exhausted as he thought.
