Lays on the dock, staring up at the night sky, one arm hanging over the edge, fingers trailing in the water. The moon is nearly full and he can feel the beast rumbling within him. Holds up his other hand, watching the weak moonlight flash off the dark diamonds and sighs. Not sure what they're going to do, but the looks he's getting from the strays say that some of them aren't happy about this.

He can't bring himself to care if they are or not.

Shakes his head, loosening his grip.

"Not to sound childish, but you started it. He may not have named me Namir-Raj, but I am still his mate and second, that demands more than a little respect."

Sighs and sits back, watching her.

"Fuck, I need a drink, I hate this politics shit."

She merely lays there, unmoving, barely breathing.

Sighs and growls.

"I'm going to introduce you guys to Nate tomorrow, let you see who Nathaniel can be. Let him see who he can be, what he can have."

She doesn't move, just canting her eyes to look at him.

"And if he doesn't want that?"

"Doesn't want a chance to be happy, to be loved for who he is, not what he is? We deal with it if it happens."

Shakes his head.

"Doesn't matter to you anyway, you're not the one who's going to have to give up anything for him."

"No, of course not. I'm not the one that has patched him up since the day Gabriel took me in. I'm not the one that sewed his goddamn intestines back in after a John gutted him like a fish. And I'm not the one that has rocked him to sleep for the last two months since his Alpha left him, reminding him that he means nothing and no one ever stays with him. So.. go on. Kick me out. Prove to him how right he is and you had a hand in it.'

Flipping herself onto her feet.

"Prove yourself the same monster Gabriel is."

Just looks up at her, sadness in his eyes.

"Monster? I'm the one who's going to have to give up a part of his life for Nathaniel. I'm the one who's going to have to make room in his bed, his marriage for Nathaniel.

Because Gabe won't turn away, and I won't make him do it."
