Jason stretches out on the hammock, napping. Gabe went to get food, and the others were somewhere. Very peaceful and quiet today.

The whole in the ground was enough to almost put the fear of god into Tamarantha. Almost.

Remembering what Leela had told her, of being on the other side of the lake, watching the boys come over, Tam headed around the lake.

Pausing as she saw a familiar face, calling out to not disturb him.

"Jason? That you? It's Tam. Leela around?"

Groans and rubs his eyes, then waves to her.

"Yeah, it's me. Don't know where Leela is at, she took off on a date."

Sits up slowly as he speaks, his ribs not quite healed.

"Anything I can help with?"

Canting her head, watching his movements.

"You okay? Didn't get hurt in the blast, did you?"

Moving closer, concern on her face, shaking her head.

"Nope. Johnny's working, everyone's with him. That big ole building is kind of eerie when it's just you and an owl. If i'm bothering, I can go."

Nods, tapping his ribs.

"Almost healed. Got into a bit of a fight last night and this morning. And no, you're not bothering me. Gabe went to get food and I'm here all by my lonesome."

Smiles and points to the other end of the hammock.

"Have a seat."

Grinning, eyeing the swing type thing and then, with much production, climbs up across from Jason.

"MMm, food. Forgot to eat this morning. I may steal from you.'

Smiling, settling back, eyes half closed.

"What's he bringing us?"

Looks at her and laughs, shaking his head.

"Chinese. You want some?"

"Merlin's beard, that sounds good. So does pizza too. Mmmm, need to get pizza on my way home.'

Grinning, head resting back on the knot to the ropes securing the hammock.

Takes his cellphone from his pocket and dials Gabe's number.

"Hey, you grabbed our food yet? No, need you to double the order though. Mommy-to-be just showed up and she's hungy. Not Leela or Lil, Tam. The blonde one. Actually, 21. Yeah, and see you in a bit. Love you too."

Hangs up the phone and looks at her.

"Food is on the way."

Silence. Complete, utter, silence.

And then she flipped. Literally. In trying to get up, to scramble away, Tam flipped herself out of the hammock, landing on her side with an oof.

Laying there, panting, eyes closed.

"What? Jason? What were you... What?!?'

Moves quickly, but not fast enough to catch her. Crouches down beside her.

"Tam, you okay?"

Carefully helps her sit up.

"Fuck, I should have moved to the porch or somthing..."

Eyes closed, near hyperventilating. Cheeks bright red but the rest of her face pale. Extremely pale.

"What are you talking about Jason. I'm not.. .I can't be... I... Oh god, I'm going to be sick.'

Whimpering, but making no move to retch, shuddering as she leans against him.

"I can't be... How do you..."

Looks confused, not sure what she's talking about.

"Can't be what? Deep breath, speak slowly. I'm still a bit loopy from last night."

Whimpering, trying to breath. Eyes closing once more, taking the breaths.

"I'm not pregnant.' Stated so softly, lips barely moving. "Why would you say that?"

Stares at her, shocked.

"Because you are... Fuck, I'm sorry Tam, I thought you knew."

Sits down, shaking his head.

"I'm sorry, if I had known..."

Shaking her head, pulling away.

"No. No I'm not. Jason.. come on. This isn't funny. Please. Don't.'

Shaking, drawing her knees up to her chest.

"How could I know? How do you know?"

Fighting tears, bowing her head.

"How?"

Sighs, looking anywhere but at Tam, he really hates it when girls cry.

"The scent of your blood is slightly different. Richer, fuller. It's very distinctive, and not something one forgets."

Looks at her and shrugs.

Sobbing, lowering her face to her hands and weeping.

"I can't... Johnny... We never discussed and... Oh god, My Father and...'

Her head snapping up, nose red, eyes filled with tears, bleary.

"OH bloody hell, Dante will never speak to me again."

"Tam? Come on, don't cry, it's not that bad..."

Completely at a loss, having no idea what to do.

"Um, I can call Johnny for you? Dante? ...Cissa?"

Crying once more, bowing her head as she slowly sinks back down to the ground, curling into a ball. Laying there until her sobs still, eyes still closed.

"No. I have to. I'll... I'll need to... I'm going to be a Mom.'

Whimpering once more, sighing.

Watches for a second, completely bewilderd, then picks her up and carries her into the house.

"Yes, and moms don't lay on the ground, crying. That's what couches are for."

Not resisting as he picsk her up, curling into his arms. Face soaked, nose red, her eyes hurting as did her head.

"Jason? How... I don't even know what."

That very thought stops her, perplexes her to know end, blinking.

Walks through the backdoor, glad he left it open and goes to the living room, setting her on the couch.

"What don't you know?"

"What you get when you cross a witch and pyrokinetic."

KNowing it sounds like a joke but she is deadly serious. Staring at Jason, sniffling as she wips her tears away, scrubbing at them with her fingers.

"A need for fire proof baby clothing?"

Not laughing, just stating a fact.

"Can he even pass on his power?"

Shrugging, her hand moving to rest against her stomach, almost as if she thought she might sense the child within.

"Don't know. I can, of course. But Johnny? I... I don't know."

Nods, looking amused.

"Guess you'll have to ask around. Or as Reed."

And with that her face fell once more.

"Oh god. Sue. She'll think I.. On purpose. Oh god."

Looks curious, trying to figure something out.

"Tam, yell at me if this is none of my business, but how long ago did you first have sex with Johnny?"

Blinking, looking up at Jasom sharply, seemingly confused.

"Uhmm, it's been like... two weeks? Right around there?'

Stunned silent. Had it only been two weeks? It seemed like forever that she'd been with him.

Nods, still thinking.

"That makes sense, I didn't notice any change the last few times I saw you."

Shrugs looking unworried.

"And how can she blame it on you? Until you met Johnny you were a sheltered virgin, as everyone knew. He should have been more careful."

"Don't.'

Tones suddenly changing, almost growling. "I meant that she may think I am trying to trap him. She's accused me more than once of such nonsense of seeking to break his heart after all.'

Shaking her head, curling up into the corner of the couch.

Rolls his eyes.

"Typical big sister shit. 'OH NO! You're going to ruin my precious little brother!'"

Shakes his head.

"And I will. I don't -know- Johnny, but I know how he used to be, it doesn't matter if you're the goddess that makes the sun rise and set, he should have remembered protection."

Averts her eyes, staring at the floor.

"I even know when it happened. Our first night. Only other time we forgot was... last night.'

Shaking her head, taking a deep breath.

"I just can't ... can't believe this."

"Well, now you have to tell Johnny, which you'll probably want to do in private and deprive us all of watching him end up speechless."

Grins, starting to laugh.

"Might want to do it at the beach, in case he forgets how to control himself for a bit."

But where it amused Jason, Tam was looking pale and wane.

"I... I can't tell him. I can't. He'll... He'll hate me."

The very thought made her stomach turn and she was suddenly on her feet.

"Bathroom? Where?"

Running where she's told, mind racing.

Hating that she was being sick. In Jason's home. That she was so upset she was acting this way.

Rinsing out her mouth, she wanders back into the living room, eyes bloodshot, pale once more.

"I'm sorry."

Holds up a glass of orange juice for her.

"Don't worry about it. And he won't hate you."

Sipping, eyes closing as the cool juice seemed to calm her stomach.

"I love him so much, Jason. You can't imagine... well, you probably can.'

Smiles tenderly.

Nods.

"Yeah, I can. That's why you need to tell him soon. And he'll be excited. Hell, look how he reacted to meeting Franklin."

"But that was his nephew! Not his own child. What if he thinks I'm trying to trap him? What if.. He said he'd be there no matter what but..."

"He'll be there. Hell, if he was that excited about his nephew, imagine what he'll be like with his own kid."
