A large portal opens in the backyard and a puddle jumper slips quietly through. The portal disappears as the jumper lands on the yard with only a small bump. The rear hatch opens and Jason bounces out with a shit eating grin on his face.

He closes the hatch and runs up to the house, taking the porch steps two at a time. He walks through the door and looks around.

"Honey! I'm home!"

Ella saw it first. Standing at the window, she began to bang at the glass just as Jason emerged from the plane.

"Puppy. Puppy. Puppy. Puppy.'

Arching a brow, hearing the buzz of the plane, Gabe stepped over to see why his darling had put one with the other... Just as Jason came through the door.

"Well... You have Ella's attention.' Smirking, shaking his head as he laughed. "So, take it you know how to fly that thing?"

He grins, picking up Ella and swinging her around.

"Yes, I learned how to fly it. Apparently I'm really good at turning things on."

Winks at Gabe then looks at Ella.

"Wanna go play in the jumper, Ellababy? Do you? Take you and Daddy for a spin?"

He snorts, rolling his eyes. "I can vouch for that one, pup. But doesn't mean you can keep that thing in the air.'

Slipping over, tugging his two favorite people closer and stealing a kiss from his mate.

"Yes, let's go up in the tiny coffin with wings.' Eyes sparkling, fighting not to smile."

"It's not a coffin! It's a ...minivan with wings."

Grins and takes Gabriel's hand, pulling him towards the door.

"Come on, you gotta see this."

Laughing. "Great. I've turned into a skyborn soccor mom.' But he follows, slapping Jason on the ass with his free hand.

"Ha. Ha. Ha."

Growling at the smack, smiling as he leads Gabe to the jumper. He pushes on the hatch trigger and carries Ella inside, setting her down to explore. He grins as she heads directly for the front compartment.

"So, what do you think?"

Climbing in after his mate, pausing at the top to look around.

"It's... tiny.' Biting his lip, looking back behind him at the ground.

"So, I ever tell you that I'm terrified of flying?"

Just stares at Gabriel for a moment, then shakes his head.

"No. You never said anything, not even when we were... Okay, nevermind. No flying anymore, okay? I won't even start the jumper up."

"STOP! Nonono.' Sighing, taking Jason's hand. "I trust you. Seriously. I want to do this. Just want you warned when I go white knuckle. And I'm not taking this from you. Come on. Show me, pup.'

Kissing him, smiling. "Show me what you can do."

Smirks and turns, pulling Gabriel towards the front compartment, picking up Ella as they get there. Sits in the passenger seat, setting Ella on his lap and grins at Gabe. Waves a hand at the driver's seat.

"Sit. I'll let you start it up."

Staring at Jason, fear showing on his features as he took the seat and buckled him in.

"If you give me the controls and then go pretend asleep? When we land I will... I will... Just don't do it, okay?"

Smiles, but doesn't buckle up.

"I would never do that to you. Never. Now, think 'on'."

"Think... on?"

Stares at Jason like the man he lost his mind.

"Okay. On.' Seems to sort of concentrate.

Grins and bounces Ella when the pod hums to life.

"Lookit Ella, Daddy made the lights glow."

Sets her near the DHD console so she can play with the controls there, knowing she can't harm anything.

"So, do you want to fly it, or do you want me to take over?"

Stunned. Silent. Staring at the plane as it came to life.

"Ya know, some days? I really hate Nexus shit.'

Muttered softly, shaking his head. "Can't. Not yet. I... I'd worry my fear would send us down. You do it."

"Actually, this isn't nexus shit. This has to do with aliens and genetics. Basically, the Ancients in every world implanted a gene in our race that's been carried down in our DNA for millenia. And even though it has become diluted in most people, some are still strong enough carriers to work Ancient tech. I'm thinking the lycan virus stren..."

Trails off, blushing a bit.

"Sorry, the geek is showing. Um, yeah, I'll take over if you want."

Watching Jason as he talks, eyes sparkling as he leaned over, kissing his mate's cheek.

"I love that in you. Love to see you shine in your field after all the worlds, all the people like me and Raina who tried to kill it within you."

Shrugs, blushing a bit more.

"Lil keeps bugging me to go back to school, but..."

Gets up and moves to switch seats with Gabe.

"You take the munchkin, I'll take us for a spin. Around the lake, or Vegas? Did I mention this thing as an invisibility shield?"

Rising, making the switch as he takes Ella. Settling into the passenger's seat, settling the babbling child in his lap.

"Anywhere you want. I trust you with my life.'

Silent a minute, bending to kiss the top of Ella's head. "And I think Lil is right."

Quickly turns on several of the panels and sets them in motion, rising above the tree line and slowly circling the lake.

The ride is completely smooth, the inertial dampeners making it feel like they're sitting still.

"Better than an airplane. And what would I go back for? There's too much of a chance of spreading the virus for me to be a doctor."

Sitting back, taking long, slow breaths to try and remain calm.

"I... I didn't used to be afraid,' he whispers. 'Until Raina got a kick out of dangling me out of a plane one night."

Shrugging, trying to dismiss it as he hugged Ella tightly to himself.

"There's more than being a doctor. And cause you love it. What about the end of things that Greg's on?"

Stands and picks up Ella, setting her on the floor in the empty cargo area. Straddles Gabriel's seat, sitting in his lap.

"So, we give you new, better memories of flying."

Kisses Gabe softly, then nuzzles his cheek.

"And I don't want to crap Greg's style. Besides, I want to do more than analyze blood and semen samples."

Shuddering as Jason gives up the controls, trying to convince himself this was okay. Plane could fly itself. He wasn't going to fall from the sky like a stone.

Purring at the kisses, the nuzzles, eyes closing as he wrapped his arms around his lover's waist.

"Oh, sexy.' Muttered cold, deadpan.

"It's on autopilot, it won't crash, I promise."

Snickering at that remark, glancing over to check on Ella.

"So, do you have any ideas what I should do? Besides rob Wall Street blind?"

Hands gliding up and down Jason's back, eyes still closed.

"Research science? Study all the freaks in the Nexus?"
