4 October 2005 19:59Jason puts the last piece in place then sits on the floor and looks around the room. What had been an extremely large walk-in closet in the plans had been turned into a playroom. It's not like neither him nor Gabe needed a lot of room for their clothes, so one closet was more than enough for the two of them.
He sighs and stands, leaving the room and pulling the pocket doors shut behind him. He stalks through the bedroom and stops in front of the desk, kneeling in front of it and opening a box. Inside was all the pieces and necessary items for the small altar to Hermes. He planned on setting them up in the small garden just below the veranda outside their windows.
He lifts the box and sets it on the desk, reaching for the bottle of wine he had set there earlier and pauses, staring at a flat black box. He picks it up without opening it and walks over to the fireplace, setting it on the mantle. Lets his fingers linger over the velvet cover of the box, gnawing at his lip. Finally turns away and walks back over to the desk, placing the bottle in the box and picking up.
He walks through the french doors leading out onto the veranda and down the spiral staircase to the garden below. It only takes a few minutes to set up the altar. He starts the fire burning, placing a good sized portion of venison on the pyre. He uses his hand to dig a small trough in the ground beside the altar and then pours some of wine onto the ground.
Mentally gives thanks to Hermes for everything, then moves back away from the pyre. He sits and watches the fire, drinking the wine straight from the bottle.

Date: 5 Oct 2005 14:06 (UTC)I spent days racking my brain trying to figure out the perfect gift fo you. You have all the money you would ever want. A beautiful home, a husband, family, a daughter. Cars. Islands. Everything. What can you give someone like that to tell them... My life, my everything is yours.
In this stack you will find letters and documents from the St Louis preternaturals of my world. Jamil is running the pack, Sylvie is the rat queen, there is no pard and Asher shares the city with Malcolm.
The top letters are those of fealty, swearing their true following to Jason Schuyler. The pack and rats are yours. Below that is a letter from the Council. If they assign a new Master, they will clear it through you. If they leave Malcolm or Asher in the position, both have sworn their fealty as well.
I've already given you myself. Here is what made me the man you love. The city of St Louis is yours. Do with it what you will.
Love,
Gabriel

With the pard at your back, we are nearly unstoppable. I.. I wanted to give you that power in our world. I wanted you to have there what you've gained here.'
Silent a long time, nervous.
"Burn it down. Kill them all. Leave them to their own devices and let them live. Decide who should be in charge and give it all back. Whatever you wish. It's yours."
