Someone was having a bad day.
The first sign had been the remote hitting the wall and shattering. Parts of it were embedded in the plaster, the rest scattered on the floor below. Followed shortly by the sound of the refrigerator being kicked shut and bottles clinking. Then footsteps echoing down the stairs to the lower level.
Soon the sound of a rather angry game of pool being played could be heard.
